Parish Council Respond to Saturn Study

E-mail Print PDF

The Parish Council has now responded to the County Council 'Saturn Study' which if you remember attempts to predict the outcome of any changes to the current road network in and around Whiteley.

The report focuses a lot on whether the model was prepared according to best practice as laid down in the 'Design Manual for Roads and Bridges'.

One conclusion to draw from this is that the WPC are not happy with the results. They have long advocated the opening of Yew Tree Drive which is of course closed by Fareham Borough Council and as such outside the Winchester District

Meanwhile Councillor Allgood is preparing another survey. I suspect it may include the question: Would you like Yew Tree Drive to be open to all traffic?

You may wonder what happens next. As a resident of some eleven years I am quite confident in saying nothing will happen. We may see a repeat of the study, funds permitting and we will no doubt see more surveys
